Hi Priya, 40days is too early to confirm hip dysplasia. We have to wait until 6months to confirm it as hip dysplasia

Observe the signs like difficulty in climbing steps, sitting in frog posture, pain after long walks etc.

Hey Dr Supriya. My pup has little difficulty in walking from left leg. Can it be because of tiles of house or he is way too young.

And can we allow climbing stairs in 40-50 day pup ?

Hi Priya, it might due to smooth surfaces and cold. But it is better start with a calcium supplement for him. If he is feeling difficultly in walking I wouldn't recommend to allow him to climb stairs otherwise not a problem.

I understand your concern Priya, start with supplement and make him walk on rough surfaces atleast for an hour every day. If there is no improvement we can schedule a physical examination.
