Hi, My 8MO female persian kitten- Jasmine, after playing for a few mins, started panting excessively for a few seconds. Although, she went back to normal in under a minute itself and started playing again but I am still worried as this is the first time I observed that in her. She didn’t drink water post the activity. She has access to fresh water always, I make sure the water is little bit cold as it’s summers. Her fur is not shaved. Please guide if I should be worried or what else can be done to make her more at comfort?

Hi Sana Jasmine was panting post play indicating overexertion. Cats can't decipate heat like us, they mainly used their paws. If she's panting post play, when it's too hot or in case of stress, she does so to calm herself. When you notice it occasionally like now, you don't have to worry. If you want you can trim her a bit for the summer and give her moisture rich food.
