Hi. Wash the wound with any soap in running water. Apply Betadine ointment. Kindly visit a veterinarian tomorrow for post bite Anti rabies vaccination without fail.

Did you see blood oozing from wound? Even though annual vaccination is done, post bite vaccination is compulsory. Since it's already been 6 months, I advise you to get post bite antirabies vaccination done.

This is a category 2 bite and it requires post bite anti rabies vaccination. According to new studies, it's been proved that one or 2 doses are enough if vaccination is done in last 3 months, since it's already been 6 months, it is advisable to get complete vaccination done and definitely there are no side effects instead the antibody titre will be maintained.
