Hey Dr. I had recently got my male cat sterilized. Nd since thn my female cat screams a lot during her heat period. Extremely bad she screams the whole day nd night . I want to know is there any solution to reduce her pain or screams without getting her sterilized. Since the main reason I got my male cat sterilized was to prevent her frm surgery .

Hi Fatima. Even though a neutered male doesn’t have any impact on an intact female in heat, you can still separate them. Use catnip spray to calm her down during heat. You can also practice acupuncture to reduce the pain and to calm the cat. Refer some YouTube videos to know the pressure points.
