Hi all, I am struggling to raise my 50 day old golden puppy. I am not sure if I am doing the right thing. I miss my old life where I didn’t have so many things to look after and was by myself. Am I being selfish? Should I look for a more loving home for my pupp? Please help

You will struggle with the puppy for a few months until it's a bit more mature to understand things. Put effort with good training and you will see your relationship flourish with him. Now is a challenge but it won't be always. Don't let the puppy over power you. It will learn if you put an effort. Every family or an owner go through this phase. Even i went through it!

Hey Aishwarya, let me begin by saying that you’re not being selfish here. You’re overwhelmed and that’s completely normal. Most of us aren’t prepared for everything that comes home along with a puppy. I too have a golden girl called Sparkle (@helloiamsparkle on Instagram, in case you want to see her) and I remember waking up in the middle of the night to take her pee, then waking up again early morning to feed her, keeping track of the medicines / multivitamins, vet visit is every week, etc etc and mostly

Feeling tired and overwhelmed continuously. But hey hey, hang in there. You’ll miss him being a puppy when he’s big. This limited puppyhood period is gold, you’ll always cherish it. And I won’t lie and say this one thing helped me because it took a lot of things to help me. I read a lot about training and started working with her on the behaviours I wanted to encourage - basic obedience, pee/poop training etx. It also helps you build a bond with your dog and that leads to easier puppyhood

It’ll take you a few days to adjust to this routine with a puppy at home. Take all the help you can from friends, family, domestic helps. You’re only human, don’t try to do everything yourself. Get chew toys that he can bite on to avoid destruction. These are all of course generic things that usually help us all. You might have specific concerns and I’m happy to share my experience / direct you to the right person if you’d like to talk.

Just hang in there. Your puppy is as overwhelmed + curious + in a new environment at a VERY young age and his only anchor in the world is you. It might seem heavy considering your state of overwhelm but honestly, you’ll realise soon how beautiful a blessing this is!

Theo is a super cute and friendly Labrador. He is healthy, a big foodie, is vaccinated, good with humans, kids and other dogs. He is a bit hyperactive and requires physical activities like playing and running regularly. He needs a family that understands his needs. I’m putting him up for adoption as I’m moving abroad and there’s no one to take care of him :(
