My cat's been making this sound since she woke up this morning. She used to make this sound when she first came to live with us but then she stopped doing it for months and now she started making this sound again. I tried to give her food, play with her, pat her and basically whatever all I could think of but apparently I'm unable to understand her. Maybe a TMI but it's raining here, so has it got something to do with it? Also, she doesn't look to be hurt physically apparent to eyes.

It could be due to estrus or heat period, which generally starts at this age. You can check if she is in heat by observing signs like if she is being more affectionate towards you, rolling in the floor, grooming the genital areas more than usual or if you give a press at the lower back if she raises her hind limb in a mating position.

*DECK THE HALLS WITH BOUGHS OF HOLLY!* Just this time, we'll be decking a lovely animal shelter with them instead! It's the Christmas season - the one of Giving. So, this Christmas, I'll be visiting the shelter along with a few friends to distribute some gifts (toys, treats, and other supplies) for those who can't celebrate with a family. However, we can't do it without you. We're looking for donations - old toys, treats and food (both dogs and cats), blankets, etc. Live too far away? You can always donate the exact amount of what you want to donate and I'll buy it for you instead. If you live in south Bangalore, Dunzo is preferred. Let's help bring happy smiles to the faces of those forgotten by humans who despised them. DM me Neha at +91 9480521596 for more details or addresses for delivery or donations phone number as it isn't this one. Everything is appreciated! Do share so that we can reach out to more people! I want to do something special for them. I'll be keeping you updated on everything bought

Dear Dog-lovers, Is it advisable to raise a male and female puppy (Shih Tzu) together? We are OK for the female to have puppies 1 -2 times in its life as it will be healthy for it. But for the rest of the periods in heat, how can we make both puppies comfortable? We are not sure if we want to neuter the puppies as we've had conflicting views on health issues that comes after neutering/ spaying. From google: "Spayed female dogs may have an increased risk of developing urinary tract infections and juvenile or recessed vulvas when spayed before puberty. Urinary mechanism sphincter incompetence, also known as estrogen responsive urinary incontinence, is a common problem in female dogs spayed." We'd be grateful for your guidance here before we adopt the female puppy. Thanks a ton!
