Hello everyone, So, my 7 month old Labrador, Mylo got her first heat cycle. This started since yesterday. As I am completely new to parenting a pet, I would like to get some advice for the best care tips during this phase to ease her and calm her down. She is resistant to diapers. How do I go about it to ensure a certain level of hygiene too? Thank you.

You can put the diaper on and keep an eye on her for a day she will get used to it! My dogs were pretty normal just ate less and were picky on what they ate

She can be maintained as usual with some additional precautions during walks to avoid approach of other dogs and more vigilance to prevent her from running out of the house . Diaper use is preferably only for short essential durations ,not continuously as it sometimes leads to rashes or UTI if not changed regularly

Most of them will maintain a fairly good level of hygiene by themselves naturally and lick any excess discharge . Though staining of linen can be an issue

Thank you so much for the valuable inputs. Will keep in mind. Just one more question though. How long does a cycle last usually? And, I forgot to mention that she has been shedding a lot just before the cycle started. Is that normal too?

Hello doc..Is it okay to give milk to Persian kitten aged 4.5 months? If yes what should be the frequency or quantity per day? Right now we give it wet food and a little dry food daily.
