This issue will be there when they are young no need to worry the pet will start eating whole portion after 6 months of age

I just adopted a Shih Tzu who is 10 months old. He lived with other pups. Got him today and he hasn't eaten or passed loo or poo.. from the time we got him home. Will he be okay. Is this normal in the breed? I have had other big breeds this is the first time with shih Tzu so am confused as am facing the situation first time.
