Hi! I have a few doubts regarding diet of a 4 month old labrador: 1. Is chicken necessary in their diet or we can substitute it with vegetarian alternatives that act as a good protein source? 2. Should chapati (multigrain flour) be fed to them? 3. What quantity of ghee should be provided in a single day?

1. Meat is a very important part of a canine's diet especially at this age when the pup is growing, substituting it completely with vegetarian proteins would not be a very good idea because the quality of protein is not as good. Egg would be a good alternative. As an adult they can manage quite well with a well balanced high protein vegetarian diet but I would not suggest that for a young growing puppy.

2. Wheat/ gluten allergies/ hypersensitivities are common but not all dogs have a problem with this food source. I would suggest you give small servings for a few days(5-7 days) to understand if your pup is tolerant towards it before you make it a part of this regular diet. Multi grain would generally be better than plain wheat. 3. Ghee can be added in very moderate amounts ( a few drops in every meal). Also make sure your pup is ok with dairy proteins if you are using ghee or any other milk products.

Hi, I have a golden retriever and it's a female of 3 months old..but she is very fast and furious in eating the food and she don't have patience to wait for the food to be kept to eat...and she eats all not eatables like sand, papers etc...if we eat any snacks or food even she asks that at time of 2 or 3 in the mid-morning also she barks for anything to be eaten. what can be done in this case to make her not to come for food so aggressively.....
