I have a pet Coco, she is a 3 year old beagle. I notice that her tongue turns blue after lot of jumping/ excercise.. It changes back to normal colour within 5 mins... Other than this she is perfectly fine... Is this something I should be worried about?

Hi Prashanth. Yes, but the condition shouldn’t be prolonged for long time and needs a medical attention if happens so. Keep your pet in a calm and cool place once done with exercise.

@Dr.Tajunnisa, So nothing alarming now right? Is there any tests or scans that I should take? To confirm if everything is fine

No tests required as of now. Get a clinical examination done along with blood tests like CBC, LFT, KFT and chest x ray if the condition worsens. Otherwise this should be considered as normal.

Today suddenly my 4 months old Shihtzu started limping and kind of trembling on his front right leg. When I took him to vet he said there is no fracture or any kind of injury but may be a paw infection. He was continuously licking his paw, hence I made him wear a sock to avoid the same. I just want a second opinion. This happened during the noon,he was normal till evening and then again he was limping little in the night and was restless while sleeping.

Is there some common advisory of types of viruses etc. going around in a particular city for dogs? Reason I ask is last year in October we lost our 2 yr old male GR to babesios, and the doc said that it was particularly virulent last year and a lot of dogs passed away - suddenly in Hyderabad. Some of my friends who feed strays also said lot of strays were missing. However there was no advisory - I guess no platform for this type of advice- but vet. Clinics should send some sort of advisory to their regular patients imo.
