my 7month old pup has become a fussy eater. he eats properly every alternate day and leaves a large portion of his food behind otherwise. Is this a normal tendency in dogs? how do I make him eat more regularly? His activity levels, poop and water intake are regular. no changes in that. I’m usually feeding him rice and vegetables in morning and kibbles by evening. Snacks and treats are very limited during the day.

Sometimes pets become a little fussy about food. No need to worry. Give the same portion of food everyday, same quantity in the morning and evening. To increase the appetite you can give aptiquick syrup upto 5 ml for 20 kg body weight before food.

At this age you can shift him down to 2 meals and a snack. - - Variety: You can give him some variety by using different protein sources like chicken/ egg/mutton/ fish. You can also explore some vegitarian options like paneer( if he is ok with dairy), lentils, tofu and soya. -Cooking methods Cooking methods can also be altered to help change the texture.

- Training You should also make sure you feed him strictly at a specific time, also withdraw the food if he not eating it within 10-15 mins to reduce fussy behaviour. - Note If he is not eating well despite of these changes or is exhibiting any other signs of ill health please get him examined by your veterinarian to make sure there is no other underlying reason.

Thanks for the note doctors. Appreciate it. Will try these for the next few days and report on the progress if there are issues.
