Hi, I have a 2-year-old Shih Tzu, and a test revealed that he has Babesia gibsoni and Babesia sp. Is this a serious issue?

1. Make sure there are no ticks present on your pets body (Start anti tick treatment) 2. Medications for Babesiosis vary, a treating doctor would decide the line of treatment looking at the severity of the disease. I would suggest you to visit a veterinarian.

No change in diet required. Give the regular food your pet has been taking.

When my golden contracted this, the vet gave 5 different types of tablets - anti biotics and antiprotozoal. 4 were for 10 days morning and night, and 1 was for 3 weeks - 3 times a day. Finally after 3 months of the treatment,, 3rd month pcr test showed negative. Please note it is a serious disease, we lost the other golden(male) to it, so please start treatment asap. All the best

Also i recommend bravecto anti tick tablets (vet can give the schedule). We are now very careful making sure our pet is getting this on schedule.

Hi! Maggie's left ear has slimy wax and a little swelling can be seen inside as well. What could be the underlying reason for the same? Her right ear seems to be usual.

Hi! My 4 month female lab had her 3rd bath today but soon there were white particles (dust like) present all over her fur. Want to confirm if it is dust or dandruff or any other skin condition.
