Hi, my dog is a 4 year old golden retriever. He keeps humping quite often in the early morning. So I would like to know if I can get him neutered, and is it a safe choice to do it? Because I’m unclear about the pros and cons of getting a dog neutered. I’ve been told by a few to get him neutered and it is safe and a few who said that’s bad because it has more risk involved. Can someone help me understand this?

As he is 4 years old u can get him neutered
Pros- he wonot get any kind of prostate cancer in the future and his lifespan will be increased
Cons- weight gain may be there which u can control by diet and exercise
