Hi! My female labrador is diagnosed with demodicosis. The vet has prescribed bravecto to treat demodex. How long does it take for bravecto to initiate the killing of demodex mites? Also, Can demodicosis increase even after giving bravecto? Image 1: Diagnosis of demodex. Image 2: Bald patch on one of her arm.

Demodex mites take around 3 months to clear out completely. One dose of bravecto should be enough to take care of the infestation, please don't repeat the tablet without consulting the attending doctor. Along with this you should also use a medicated shampoo and give a bath once in 2 weeks to prevent secondary bacterial/ fungal infection. Omega supplements can be added on it will help to improve skin health.

Kindly suggest a medicated shampoo for the same. Also, we are providing her omega3 supplement+salmon oil in her meal.

You can use conaseb. Salmon oil/ any fish oil has high concentration of omega fa 3. With this you would need something which has omega fa 6, this comes from vegetables oils like safflower/ soyabean oil. Considering the infestation, you can give a ready supplement like softcoat/ vitabest derm for now.

I adopted a indi pup. 2 months old. He disturbs my sleep a lot by jumping in bed and not sleeping in his box. Is locking him in another room with his box and food a good idea? He howls a lot and then turns silent
