I have a 2 months old Shih Tzu puppy who currently wakes me up twice at night, and I do get up each time. As he grows, will he naturally stop waking me up at night, or should I respond in a specific way to help him understand that nighttime isn’t for waking me up?

Hi Kumar. Its most common in an untrained pup. The other main reasons could be separation anxiety or when he/she wants to pass urine. Solutions to consider- 1. No need to respond unless necessary (whining can be ignored at times). 2. Provide comfortable bedding 3. He can be crate trained 4. Take him to the washroom before sleeping

Cool. Most of the times He only needs my 5 mins and then he goes back to sleep.

The habit stops eventually as pup grows. Pet might require training in unresolved cases.

My Yuji is scratching around his ears frequently. I don't see any ticks or flakes. If that's a common issue, can anyone recommend any powder or ointment? He is soon-to-be 3 months old.
