Rabies is a deadliest disease of animals especially dogs. There are two forms, one is Dumb and the other is furious form. The dumb form comes with symptoms like hypersalivation, hyperasthesia and mainly a dropped jaw condition which is due to paralysis of tongue. The furious form is quite dangerous as an affected animal has the biting tendency which is most of the times is unprovoked. Hypersalivation and hyperasthesia is also seen in case of furious form.

Canine distemper is a highly infectious, systemic, viral disease of dogs. Affected ones commonly exhibit systemic clinical signs like fever, lethargy and loss of appetite. The respiratory signs like nasal discharge, pneumonia are also seen. The GI signs include diarrhea variably followed by neurologic signs like muscle twitching, focal or generalized seizures, which may be seen as the last stage.

Both are highly contagious diseases and the vaccination here plays an important role. Hence, it's advisable to get your pets vaccinated annually/routinely. The post bite anti rabies vaccination in animals is as important as in human beings. A dog bite, be it provoked or unprovoked should never be ignored.

The incubation period in case of rabies is said to be 3 to 10 days but it varies with the site of bite. The symptoms are shown up after the above said period.

The incubation period of Canine Distemper varies from 7 days to 1. 5 to 2 months, which depends on virus strain. Once the incubation period is over, the symptoms are shown by the affected animal.

Adoption apppeal for Sydney is charming, gentle, sensitive girl who is happy to sit quietly with you, play around with other dogs or even play on her own! She loves to eat rice, pumpkin, egg, banana, coconut and would be more than happy to explore other fruits/vege/non-veg. She is dewormed and vaccinated, poty trained (you may take her for walks after food). She has recently learnt 'sit and go' command, so feel free to train her on other basic commands as she is a quick learner. Since she has stayed with her sibling till now, she will need a little time to get used to being alone but again she will learn this very quickly. She has recently learnt to do small barks on strangers, unknown dogs so is a cute watchdog too. WhatsApp 9110698650
