If u give hot fomentation it will have liquid consistentncy and may open after that

I found my 1 year old pet was scratching his ear, then noticed his ear was red and watery all over his ear. It's only on his right ear. Can I please know why this has happened? And what should I do? I have applied coconut oil for time being. I would sincerely appreciate, if I get any information which would help me. Thank you
