Dogs go through a shedding period once in 6-8 months, this period can vary from individual to individual. Ways to differentiate between regular seasonal shedding and abnormal shedding:
Abnormal shedding will be associated with infection on the skin, dryness, flakes, pustules, redness on the skin, which is usually associated with itching and shows up with bald patches. If there are no such symptoms you don't need to worry it's probably just a seasonal shed.
