My cat is a year-old and seems to be having a lot of trouble coping up with the hot summer. I live in a place where temperature goes up to 45° and he's been breathing rapidly from the last one to two weeks. I've been giving him wet food regularly and he's been eating fine. He is peeing and pooping fine. But he's been drinking a lot less water than usual. And he's been very lethargic from the last couple of days. Should I start giving him electrolytes or any other medicine to make him feel better ?

Try giving him tender coconut water. I have two cats and a dog, they all have tender coconut water everyday. My dog is no problem, she laos up the water but for my cats i have to force down 20mi each cat. everyday. This provides them good hydration.

Hi. 1. Avoid over exertion 2. ⁠keep the pet in cooler places, avoid direct sunlight 3. ⁠Put ice cubes in their water bowls. 4. ⁠Double coated pets should preferably be kept in air conditioned rooms or at least provided with coolers. 5. ⁠They can even be trimmed during summers 6. ⁠If their body feels warmer than normal, apply cooler clothes dipped in water on their body for sometime. 7. ⁠Increase watermelons as treats + tender coconut. No medicine is required.
