I have an 8months old golden retriever mix puppy. I want get him neutered. Is it recommended? If so, what are the options? I recently moved to Bluru and is there any recommendations for hospitals or vets?

Yes. Neutering comes with an option of surgery having both advantages and disadvantages. But the former overweighs latter. The advantages include birth control, reduction of aggression (with other behavioural issues) and possibility of prostate or testicular cancer. Disadvantages being gaining weight, which can be controlled through feeding habits.

You can consider Cancure, Veterinary college, TrustiVet and Cupa in Hebbal region.

Hi, the doctor rightly pointed out the advantages and disadvantage these will help you to decide whether or not to get Rony operated. Also I would suggest waiting for him to turn at least 1.5 to 2 years old before you get him neutered, if there is any urgency eg a female unneutered dog in the same house you can get it done at this age but it's usually healthier to do it when the pet is skeletally mature. Also by that time it'll be clearer to you if it's really necessary.

That's really helpful. In fact that was next question. About the appropriate age to get it done. Thanks a lot both.

Hi, My 1yr 2 m old German shepherd who weighs approx 23kg ate 3 pieces of green grapes. Later after a small research i realised that grapes are extremely toxic for dogs. In the past as well he has had 2 grapes which was approximately a month ago. I noticed no symptoms in the past. It's been 2 hours since he recently had it and I don't see any vomiting or excessive salivating either. Should I be worried? PS. I am aware that he's extremely underweight for his age. He's being fed a diet with eggs, meat, liver as per the recommended doses by his local vet.
