Hi Vathsala. See if there is any redness. Licking is a way to clean themselves, but if it's more definitely there's an issue. I would suggest you to get him checked clinically to rule out infection/inflammation.

Licking urine is a bad habit and should be discouraged. Training would definitely help solving this problem. Use commands like 'no' 'leave it' along with giving treats to interrupt and divert his mind. Use positive reinforcement but don't punish.

Seeing this inflamed/swollen area in my pup since a couple days, applied ice to reduce inflammation and it works for a while and seems to give him relief. But it's bleeding a little bit, I noticed this morning when I saw blood on his paw. I could see a slight cut mark yesterday, can't see it today. Any suggestions on what should I do?1 comments•353 views

Coco has some wound near his knee. I gave one s spoonful of virgin coconut oil in his food. He doesn't lick anymore and looks like healing. But there is another one I see near his paws. He doesn't allow anything to be applied. He limps also. It means it has a pain.4 comments•62 views
