Though most dogs love it, we should use it very moderately 1/4 tbs for small dogs, 1/2 for medium and 1 for large dogs once or twice a week. If you have never given it before, just give a small lick and observe for allergies. Signs of allergies can vary from inflammation on the skin to a bout of gastroenteritis. Also make sure the butter that you use should not contain xylitol. It should not be used for pets who are obese, diabetic or who suffer from pancreatitis.
