Hi Pooja! Is there any redness or swelling or itching in the paw? Asking just to rule out any potential infection or allergy or an underlying conditions being the reason behind it.

Hello! He’s not got any infection but his paws are dry after a walk which makes it difficult for him to walk normally. He’s 5 months and has started going on regular walks.

He does scratch a little post the walk and I use wet wipes to clean his paws. Is that ok?
Dr. Sharmila Rai
Dry paws could be due to dry air or hot/cold weather or walking in rough hot pavements. So you can apply coconut oil or vaseline or paw balms (Paw Naturale or any all natural paw balms) before and after the walks and instead of wipes you can wash the paws with warm water and dry after the walk. Also do regularly check the area between their toes in the paw for any injuries or foreign objects which can help in preventing paw infections from developing.
Dr. Sharmila Rai
But if you observe any redness along with swelling and pain then do get him checked.

Thank you. I’ll monitor and get him checked if the pain doesn’t subside for him.

Coco has some wound near his knee. I gave one s spoonful of virgin coconut oil in his food. He doesn't lick anymore and looks like healing. But there is another one I see near his paws. He doesn't allow anything to be applied. He limps also. It means it has a pain.
