Hello. My female cat got spayed 2 days ago. When we got her home, she peed on herself. She badly wants to clean that part so she is insisting to remove neck cone that was put by the surgeon. She hasn’t eaten any food since she got spayed. The neck cone is making her feel uncomfortable I guess. We did try to remove the neck cone and force feed her, yet she spit the food all out. Also she stayed away from us and started licking her body where she had peed. Also she started to lick the wound region, tried to take of the bandage that was attached to stitched region. So we put back the neck cone again. We really don’t know what to do

The e- collar is advised to keep to reduce the licking of the surgical site and to fasten the healing of the wound Pets feel uncomfortable with the e collar u can remove the e collar while having food and then put it back If u remove the e collar and if she keeps on licking the wound wonot heal

I understand. But even if we remove the collar, instead of eating food, she starts to lick her body. She just doesn’t eat food. Even if we forced the food in her mouth, she spits it out doctor.

Try to give her the wet food and for another two days u can feed her with a syringe very slowly so that she wonot spit the food out and if she is licking the wound too much donot remove the e collar
