Hello. Yes, you can definitely go ahead with neutering. The advantages are 1. It increases the life expectancy. 2. Neutered males have a reduced risk of testicular cancers and prostate problems. 3. Neutering keeps control of hormonal changes thus by reducing aggressive behavior and they are less likely to show biting tendency. 4. Behavioral patterns like humping, mounting, or urine spraying also get controlled.

The disadvantage include weight gain. If diet and activity levels are managed, this might not become a problem.

My dog has developed this rash. He has been self biting himself from a long time. We have used anti fungal spray as well after vet visit.. but the itching, self biting always comes back.. We have also given him ticks and flea treatment along with flea bite dermatitis in the past. He is a 8 months old puppy and eats well.

I usually feed him an egg with veggies in morning, a snack usually a sweet potato or a carrot around 3pm.. and for dinner I serve him 4 tablespoon kibble.. am I feeding him less ? his current weight is 8.5 kgs and tends to gain weight..
