Ideally spaying is to be performed post end of pseudopregnancy phase otherwise there can be prolonged post operative pseudopregnancy symptoms . There are hormonal medicines that can be given for pseudopregnancy if symptoms are major but it is to be used judiciously with consultation with your regular vet. Please get a vet checkup and bloodwork done to ensure that the low appetite and vomiting is just due to pseudopregnancy and possible gastritis rather than anything more serious.

Hi, my dog is a 4 year old golden retriever. He keeps humping quite often in the early morning. So I would like to know if I can get him neutered, and is it a safe choice to do it? Because I’m unclear about the pros and cons of getting a dog neutered. I’ve been told by a few to get him neutered and it is safe and a few who said that’s bad because it has more risk involved. Can someone help me understand this?
