Hi! It's been roughly 15-20 days that Maggie has been shifted to protein rich diet from urinary s/o diet. Some part of her stool colour appears black. We've got her Fecal evaluation, liver function and B-12 tests which all seems to be normal (as explained by her doctor). Even today some part of it was still black and pale green along with the normal stool colour. She is active, eating well and stool consistency is normal. Should it still be concerning?

Hi Mam..the normal dog stool colour should be chocolate brown and little firm in consistency. Clinical pathology looks fine mam.

Black or tarry colour could occur when there is intestinal bleeding/ parasites(which in negative in the report). Green stools could indicate Gall bladder issue or excessive grass consumed..

Kindly keep an eye & observe the stool colour... If you feel the colour or consistency of the stools is abnormal..You can schedule an appointment with vet with online consultation or home visit.

Any other tests that can be performed to understand the underlying issue?
