Hi, I used to train my 3-month-old pup for around 5 minutes just before mealtime, totaling 15-20 minutes per day. He would listen to my commands and respond well to training until two weeks ago. However, he suddenly stopped responding to training and shows no interest. I recently changed his diet from kibbles to curd rice, then to plain curd with Cerelac, and occasionally add banana pieces (which he eats sometimes but leaves other times). He refuses to eat boiled veggies, mashed or not. He now eats plain curd with Cerelac without complaints. How can I get him to respond to training like before? Should I skip a few meals to make him hungrier and more receptive to training? When I use his food as a training reward, he ignores both the food and commands, but when I leave the bowl, he starts eating.

It’s very common with dogs, start getting some new and different treats for your pet and at start reward heavily. Training them on empty stomach is good but keeping them hungry one should not practise. Give them new and different treats they will start responding and you can build relation with the pet

THEO’S REAL STORY! 🫶 I have recently shared an adoption appeal for Theo my dog and received a lot of backlash. I would like to clarify a few things : 1. Theo is my family and he is a rescue. He was abandoned at a kennel and was in a very bad condition and suffered from ear infection and other issues. 2. My family has had Theo for 1 year now and we LOVE him truly and I can never think of abandoning him. 3. I have been approached by multiple people including unethical breeders but I will ensure that Theo doesn’t end up homeless or with the wrong people and that is why I put up a post here. 4. My family condition isn’t that great at the moment and im leaving for my higher studies. He is a dog that needs constant attention love and affection like every dog and I am sad that im not able to provide that to him and hence putting him up for adoption. When I rescued him I didn’t think of anything else except him getting better, he is not a SHOW OFF dog he is my best friend. Thanks for everyone reaching out!
