Hi Mam.. some measures could be taken if polyphagia is behavioural in nature. You could provide high fibre diet, you could divide daily food allotment into several small feedings per day. You can include some vegetables (cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, green beans etc).. Foods with high water content are more satisfying..you could offer vegetable or chicken soup..

You could try to divert your pets attention from food to something more exciting. Take them for regular walks, play with them, spend some time brushing their fur out. Spending some quality time with your pet could divert your pets mind off of food.

Some of the medical causes of polyphagia in dogs could be due to parasites in the intestines, Cushing's syndrome, Diabetes mellitus, Inflammatory bowel disease etc..

Kindly schedule an appointment with vet for home visit to rule out medical conditions resulting in polyphagia.
